The Wabash Building Society is investigating a new, more affordable direction for the community centre, focused around artificial outdoor ice pads connected to a new arts, culture and recreation facility in the old linseed oil factory at 40 Wabash Avenue (the big building on the site).
The three concepts below were presented at an RMRA community meeting on Jan. 30, 2007. Discussion also revolved around new technology that might be able to pump heat out of the ground to freeze water for the ice pads, and into the building for warmth.
